Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) is a non-governmental organisation that actively promotes peace, culture and education through personal change and social contribution. Established in 1984, SGM has participated in many national and state events including Citrawarna and opening ceremonies of major sporting events. It has also been organising public lectures, cultural performances and art exhibitions at its centres throughout the country. In addition, SGM had organised large-scale charity cultural festivals.
SGM members serve as voluntary support staff for all the activities held at Wisma Kebudayaan SGM and other SGM culture centres.
In 2004, SGM was awarded the Anugerah Pendukung Seni (Arts Supporter Award) by the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism, in recognition of its contribution to the promotion of culture. SGM is affiliated to Soka Gakkai International which has membership in over 190 countries and territories.
