Wisma Kebudayaan SGM (WKSGM) was opened in November 2001 as a centre to promote activities for peace, culture and education. The 12-storey building, located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, houses an auditorium, art gallery, multipurpose halls and a conference hall.
Since 2001, more than 200 events have been held at the centre including exhibitions, public lectures and cultural performances. Many of these events were co-organised through close cooperation with foreign embassies, artists and cultural organisations from Malaysia and abroad. Events at Wisma Kebudayaan SGM are organised with the primary aim of bringing people from different communities and groups together, encouraging greater interaction among them.
The construction of WKSGM was made possible through the sincere monetary contributions from Soka Gakkai Malaysia members.
